Realizing a Dream

On December 27th I shall be embarking on a trip and realizing a life long dream.
I have always wanted to visit India. Our relationship (India’s and mine) began at the age of four when my beloved aunt married a man who took her away to live in India. I remember being very unhappy about that, but the beautifully intricate carved figurines of gods and goddesses, she sent, with seemingly hundreds of arms fascinated me to no end.
I was intrigued.  At the age of sixteen like many teenagers, at the time, I was curious about all the things that were coming out of India ie… yoga, meditation, George Harrison and the sitar etc…But life took its twists and turns and I never made it there. When my friend Barb mentioned that she was packing up and traveling for six months, I said count me in on the Asia portion. That was six months ago. At the moment, Barb is in Africa and I am getting ready. We start our adventure in Sri Lanka and then off to India. From there we will have a couple of days in Hong Kong and then to Bali another place we have both wanted to visit for many years, (many years before the book ‘Eat, Pray, Love’ came on the scene). Thailand comes after that and then its back home to Canada for me. That’s the plan so far, but one never knows what the gods have in store.  I hope to entertain and engage you as I post about my adventures in the various exotic locales I will be visiting across the planet!! To the adventure!
