My Services

One of the most delightful discoveries I’ve made within my thirty years as a counselor is that healing occurs as a byproduct of the relationship between the client and counselor.  When this relationship is grounded in safety, trust and compassion, the relationship blossoms.

People come to see me for a variety of reasons. They may be seeking to:

  • Regain a sense of identity.
  • Resolve relationship disputes.
  • Enhance self-esteem and body image.
  • Let go of fear and speak their truth.
  • Learn communication and cooperation skills.
  • Feel empowered in their life.
  • Experience more self-worth.
  • Develop forgiveness and kindness toward themselves and others.
  • Connect with their feelings, life and the people around them.
  • Feel seen and heard.

Private sessions are interactive, and include conversation and support. My work invites self-inquiry—bringing forth a deeper personal understanding of a client’s issues, root causes, and what they would like to see enhanced.

Some of the tools I use to help my clients are meditative breath-work, mindful- visualizations and hypnosis.

A few words about breath-work…

Breathing exercises and practices have been used for thousands of years in spiritual communities around the world to achieve a sense of emotional well-being and a feeling of connection with life.

Breath-work is one of the most powerful tools that I use. Over the last thirty years I have benefited greatly from various breathing techniques in my own healing process and have used them with my clients to great success.

In my practice I use breath-work

  • Method to release emotional stress through the use of simple but directed breathing exercises, your body can relax and let go of anxiety and tightness stored in your muscles.
  • Method to act as a bridge between the conscious and unconscious mind – bringing past (unconscious) feelings and thoughts that have been in your way to the surface of your awareness for release and transformation.

Whether we are conscious of this or not (and often we are not), how we react to and experience whatever life throws at us, is directly connected to our emotional state of being.  And so it becomes important to create a relationship with ourselves that is both respectful and kind.  The more accepting of ourselves we are, foibles and all, the easier it is for us to be respectful of others and able handle both positive and negative circumstances that are part of life.

Sessions are 60 minutes and cost: $ 125.00

From time to time I offer weekend, one day or evening workshops on various subjects such as: The Art of Confrontation, After the Honeymoon, Beyond Blame – a forgiveness workshop etc.

I also tailor workshops to specific groups with specific requests, if you would like more information, book a time with me or arrange a workshop for your group or company, please email me at: tamartoronto@gmail.com
