On the way to Judepur we stopped to see a Jain Temple in Ranakpur. Well, there are no words to describe the beauty of this place. Breathtaking, inspired and unbelievable don’t even begin to touch what I felt that late morning when I saw it. But wait, let me tell you that the temple is carved from white marble and the series of 29 halls are supported by 1444 pillars (and no 2 are alike). It was built in 1439. The temple is in the country and when we arrived no one attacked us wanting to be our guide for some crazy inflated prize and there was nothing for sale outside the compound, that in itself was refreshing…but I’ll let the pictures do the showing…as I said for me no words could describe the place.
